From the free personal encyclopedia

Priyansh Das (born 10 September 2004) is an Indian chef from Ranchi, Jharkhand, with a background in hotel management and a strong interest in design. He completed a degree in hotel management at the Institute of Hotel Management, Bhubaneswar, trained at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, and has been admitted to a hospitality management programme in Fano, Italy, starting in November 2026. His professional focus is Italian fine-dining cuisine, and outside the kitchen he is passionate about web design and programming.

Early life and education

Das was born on 10 September 2004 in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, where he grew up. From 2023 to 2026 he studied at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Bhubaneswar in Odisha, earning a bachelor's degree in hotel management.

His coursework covered the main operating areas of a hotel, with later modules in rooms division management and revenue management. Alongside his studies he developed a strong interest in hotel brand architecture, in particular how large groups such as Marriott International organise and position their many brands.

Industrial training

As part of his degree, Das began his Industrial Exposure Training in April 2025 at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, a luxury hotel near Mumbai's international airport. The placement rotated him through all four core departments of the property: Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Service, and the Kitchen. The experience gave him a working view of how guest-facing service and back-of-house operations fit together in a large luxury hotel.

Studies in Italy

In July 2026, Das was offered admission to the Hospitality Management programme at ITS Turismo, Cultura e Nuove Tecnologie Marche in Fano, Italy. The institute is an ITS Academy, part of Italy's public system of higher technical education recognised by the Ministry of Education and Merit.

The two-year specialisation programme runs from November 2026 to July 2028. It combines academic coursework with a mandatory internship in the second year, carried out with partner hotels and hospitality businesses across Italy. Before the academic year began, Das started an online Italian language preparation course in June 2026, run by the institute's language partner, Centro Studi Italiani.

Work and interests

Culinary

Das is a chef by profession, and his cooking centres on Italian cuisine and fine-dining presentation. He developed a three-course Italian menu built around a signature dish: a pesto-infused marbled chicken, assembled with a mosaic technique so that each slice shows a patterned cross-section. He favours a restrained, Michelin-style plating approach that frames the dish on a standard 10-inch plate rather than reworking the recipe for show.

Event design

He also works on graphic and visual design for hospitality events. His style is minimalist and high contrast, often set on solid black backgrounds and paired with custom script typography.

Web design and programming

Away from the kitchen, web design and programming are Das's main hobby and a long-running passion. He enjoys taking a project from first sketch to working code, handling both the visual design and the build himself. His projects include:

Personal life

Das speaks English, Hindi, Bengali and Italian. Outside his studies he builds and upgrades his own PCs, follows consumer technology closely and is a keen gamer. He enjoys cooking for its own sake as well as for his coursework, and spends time on graphic and web design. He is also a motorcycle enthusiast who likes taking long rides on open roads.
